These tasks and activities will focus on the micro and the macro of pronunciation, from the individual sounds in English words to the contours and rhythm of English sentences. While playful and game-like, these activities are designed to fully engage students both physically and intellectually, to involve them and make use of all the resources they bring to the classroom. The presenter will introduce a wall chart he has developed to help students work on the sounds of English, and he will explain how other materials such as Cuisenaire rods may be used to focus students’ attention on different aspects of pronunciation.
